Brenda Athletic Clubs has served the Modesto and Turlock area for over 38 years. Founder, Al Brenda started the family business in August of 1978. Al had a passion for fitness and a love for teaching and coaching that was demonstrated by the many years of service in education and athletic administration. He also was a living example of fitness, competing in “age group” athletics, where he held many national and even world records in Track and Field competitions. Al’s passion for fitness was infectious and the club’s membership numbers increased. With the help of his family the business was growing and in 1985, purchased the Turlock Racquet Club and consequently brought in the fitness facilities which gave the club much needed revitalization. This model of combining the “fitness and racquet” succeeded and in 1990, The Modesto Racquet Club was purchased and the same concept of adding in the fitness facilities attracted a sizable membership increase. The clubs have had many building and remodeling upgrade projects and continually look for ways to improve on a consistent basis.

Katie has been a member of Brenda Athletic Clubs Modesto for over a year. She utilizes the swimming pool and personal training. She keeps fit in her routine three to four days a week, 30-45 minutes each day. She has seen many changes in her body and health since she has been working out. She says she has better muscle tone and definition in her arms and increased energy
